Yesterday I had planned to sow my broadbeans straight into the ground which was prepared last week, but it was just absolutely waterlogged. So i have decided to start them off in the conservatory in small pots ready to transplant when they are big enough and the weather conditions have changed.
Sown yesterday - Broad bean - Aquaduice Claudia
Today in modules i am sowing
Cauliflower - All the year round
Brussel Sprouts - Darkmar
Cabbage - Primo 2
Chili Jalapeno
Cabbage Primo
Tomato Gartenperle
Tomato Sweet aperitif
Tomato Cherry Cascade
Tomato Lidi
Tomao Ailsa Craig
In a tray i am sowing - Onion Bedfordshire
And then in deep pots I am sowing Leeks - Autumn mammoth.
Follow my journey of life down the allotment. A lot of hard work but the rewards are amazing.

New gardening tools ordered
I have today ordered a few new tools for my allotment. very decent prices aswell.
Ordered from http://www.myallotmentplot.co.uk . They also have a sale on at the moment, but not the items ive ordered.
I have ordered an Economy Bill Hook for £15. Link. This tool is used to swing through heavy undergrowth. This will help me big style in clearing through the brambles and heavy overgrowth at the bottom of my plot
Also ordered Budget Weed Clearer / Slasher for only £7. Link. I have a problem on my plot with a very annoying weed which spreads very quickly. I am hoping that this tool will help me clear this quickly, as trying to dig it up has proved a nightmare. fortunately only one section of my plot is suffering from this weed. I will let you know how i get on with this tool after i have used it.
And this is the description on the site " Budget Weed Clearer / Slasher Ref: 427615
Clear weeds and undergrowth quickly using a smooth slashing action.
Ideal for clearing grass and weeds on the allotment.
Overall length: 800mm (31.5")"
And finally ordered myself a pocket knife at £7. This will come in useful, no more struggling to chop through cabbage and sprout stalks. link
Now the sun is out, so thinking of going down my allotment and doing a bit more digging

New Month, Better Get Digging
With heavy rain forcast all weekend, it was a nice surprise to wake up and see a glorious blue sky. (Although boy did the storms come later today - freezing at football - understatement of the year)
Still, wrapped up warm, and decided on some space for where i will sow my broadbeans which will be sown during February. i sowed some in pots in november which are coming on nicely. I have two varieties still to sow, so today, dug over, next weekend will dig over again to try and pull out any roots, and then rake over.
LEFT - Digging my broad bean patch
BELOW - A view from half way down my allotment. At the bottom is blackberry brambles which i need to clear. but that is a job after the rest of the plot is ready and dug over for 2014 sowing.
Above - The view from the top of the plot. gosh got a lot of work still to do!
Today i picked some more sprouts. Wondering where the sprouts from the bottom of the stalk have gone though?
And cant wait for the leeks to be ready. Doing really really well.
Especially seeing as when i transplanted them a old guy on the plot, was saying no no no, your putting them in far too late you are wasteing your time, you might aswell discard them.
hmmmm, look like they are doing damn fine to me (probably the mild winter has helped mind!!)
Next time im down going to dig the top end of the plot. probably stick my root veg at this end this year. And Daz - this is where i need the fence up mate!!! oh and I need a shed lol!!!
So busy morning, but a lot more busyness to come.
